This customer recently purchased a BMW 520d F11 with full dealership service history and 122k miles. After researching the well‑known timing chain issues on the N47 engine, he chose to bring the vehicle to our Nottingham workshop for a full inspection and timing chain replacement.
Once the engine was removed, we discovered heavy oil sludge build‑up despite the dealership service history. We provided photos and videos to the customer and recommended carrying out a full service while the engine was out. The customer agreed, and the work was completed within 36 hours.
